Come and breathe, feel, move and unfold with me

Yoga — Group and private classes
for adults, children and companies in Guadeloupe

September 2020 – Back on the mat!

Classes will start again on 7th September 2020.

Taking into account the global health crisis, the attendance in group classes will be limited to five people, so that there will be enough distance between each participant. Together, we will have to stick to the following rules:

- no hugs and no handshakes;
- compulsery hand washing on arrival;
- keeping a safe distance between one another.

I will ask you to bring your own mat, a towel to put on the bolsters, and a little scarf to cover your eyes during relaxation, as I will not use the eyebags.

The blankets that will have been used will be washed again after each class.

I will wear a mask if I need to come closer to you.

I look forward to meeting you on the mat,

Look no further, if…

  • you seek fluidity rather than flexibility at all cost;
  • you want to feel your body breathe and move freely from your energetic centre, the sacrum;
  • you want to feel your spine rooted in the earth and pointing toward the sky, supported along its natural curves, allowing your muscles to relax;
  • you want to keep on going about your daily tasks effortlessly and without pain;
  • off the mat, you strive to be as aware as on the mat;
  • each time you step on your mat, you are ready to accept the body as it is;
  • you experience each pose as if your were performing it for the first time;
  • you want to take appropriate action in a relaxed way rather than to try to reach perfection;
  • for you, yoga is not only a way of exploring your body, but also part of a spiritual practice.

More Stability to Unfold with Ease

There are only a few spaces left...

The classes of these two days will help you understand that, in yoga, stability is more important than flexibility. We will explore various poses from a new perspective, since we will practise from the firm rediscovered basis of our two feet and from our true centre, our pelvis, more precisely, our perineum. We will realise and feel that all our body arches are interconnected: arches of the feet, perineum, soft palate, fontanelle and, of course, diaphragm. An imbalance in one arch creates an imbalance in the other ones and the equilibrium recovered in one of them helps realign the other arches as well. The importance of the breath will be obvious: if the diaphragm moves unhindered with the breath, the other arches are not frozen, they go up and down, and, so the yoga poses are neither static nor rigid, they "breathe". We can yield to Mother Earth, which, in return, gives us the energy to rebound and unfold in the poses.

There will be no so-called advanced poses, no search of cardiac output increase and no direct strengthening of the superficial core muscles. There will be slow movements brought about by the breath, which will enable us to be aware of what will be going on in our bodies. We will practise from our deeper core without damaging the lumbar region. From the sitting position we will continue our journey on all-fours, standing, lying prone and supine. In all these positions, we will yield gently to Mother Earth from our renewed stability and, as the rebounce happens from the Earth, we will unfold easily in the poses. The last part of the afternoon classes will be devoted to Restorative Yoga. At the end of each class, we will dive into the crucial moment of relaxation, allowing our bodies to enjoy the benefits of the practice and allowing us to savour the feeling of our revitalised body.

Yoga classes will be soothing and tailored to everyone's needs, whatever your condition and whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner.
